Andriy Parubiy: Only the government and the public together will create conditions for the voting of maximum number of voters
On the 6th of May the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy held interagency meeting on ensuring safety of the presidential elections in Ukraine on the 24th of May, 2014.
The representatives of regional administrations, law enforcement and the public took part in a meeting.
Andriy Parubiy emphasized the importance of conduct of the democratic and fair presidential elections in Ukraine, which have to become unconditional factor of stabilization of the situation in Ukraine. "We need to create the right conditions for participation in voting of the maximum number of voters who would represent all regions of Ukraine, and ensure proper level of safety of all participants in the electoral process and international observers", the Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine said.
According to him, the creation of the conditions for voting of the citizens of Ukraine which will not be able to exercise this right at the place of residence - residents of Crimea and Sevastopol, military and law enforcement personnel which have been moved to other regions - is particularly relevant and important for now.
Also Andriy Parubiy at the meeting expressed confidence of a unified information policy on election coverage. "We need to quickly explain the public and the international community the nature and reasons of certain additional measures that will be used for the election process, the reasons for their implementation, especially on security issues", he said.
