The Staff of the National Security Council and the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation

On Monday, February 20, the Staff of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation, the purpose of which is to organize interaction and cooperation to improve the state sanctions policy.

The document was signed by Head of the Staff of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Andriy Ziuz, and  Director of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine Vadym Melnyk.

Andriy Ziuz and Vadym Melnyk emphasized the importance of intensifying the exchange of operational information within the limits of the specified powers, which will contribute to the improvement of the quality of the preparation of sanctions restrictions, their application, changes or cancellation.

Head of the Staff of the NSDC emphasized the need for a systematic strategic approach to the introduction of sanctions and to issues of forced seizure of objects of property rights of the russian federation and its residents in Ukraine.

According to the Memorandum, the Parties will, among other things, conduct research and analysis in the field of strengthening the capacity of the sanctions policy, exchange information on the implementation and monitoring of its effectiveness and the application of relevant legislation, etc.

The parties agreed, in particular, to participate in the implementation of state initiatives on issues corresponding to the purpose and subject of the Memorandum, to prepare methodological recommendations and other informational materials in the specified area of cooperation, to create joint working groups, other consulting and expert associations to develop proposals for concepts and strategies in the area of sanctions.
