For the first time, a representative of Ukraine will join the work of the Joint Center for Advanced Technologies in NATO Cyber Defense

At the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on February 17, 2023, the proposal of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine was supported and the resolution "On the representative of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection in the Joint Center for Advanced Technologies in NATO Cyber Defense" (CCDCOE) was adopted. Thanks to the joint work of the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center at the NSDC of Ukraine and the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, our specialists will represent Ukraine for the first time at the United Center for Advanced Technologies in NATO Cyber Defense.

Also, in the future, the presence of representatives of other main subjects of the National cyber security system - the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine - is expected to be present in the CCDCOE on a rotating basis.

"Ukraine's accession to the CCDCOE is a significant achievement in terms of strengthening international cooperation in the field of cyber security and cyber defense, as well as an important step towards Ukraine's accession to NATO. Taking into account the experience gained in the world's first cyber war, the involvement of Ukrainian specialists in the work of the CCDCOE will have a positive effect on the effectiveness of its work. It will also contribute to the strengthening of the capabilities of the National Cyber Security System of Ukraine and the exchange of experience between Ukraine and the CCDCOE member countries," Head of the Information Security and Cybersecurity Service of the Staff of NSDC of Ukraine, the NCSCC Secretary Natalia Tkachuk said.

The presence of a representative of Ukraine in the CCDCOE will contribute to increasing the effectiveness of countering aggression in cyberspace. Ukrainian specialists will have access to a huge knowledge base, will be able to participate in joint cyber training and conduct research with partners in the field of cyber security, in particular in the field of critical infrastructure protection.

NATO's Joint Advanced Technology Center for Cyber Defense is one of NATO's key structures in the field of cyber defense, dealing with cyber security issues at both the strategic and practical levels.
