Representatives of the NCSCC took part in the round table meeting "Formation of the national qualification framework for cyber security"

On November 29, 2022, the Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Serhiy Demedyuk and the Head of the Information Security and Cybersecurity Service of the Staff of NSDC of Ukraine, the NCSCC Secretary Natalia Tkachuk took part in the round table meeting "Formation of the National Qualification Framework for Cyber Security".

During the event, representatives of the Staff of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine and other subjects of the national cyber security system discussed the prospects of reforms and further plans for training specialists.

"We owe the success of our state on the cyber front to highly qualified specialists. Therefore, one of the priorities now is to increase the state's high-quality personnel potential in the field of cyber security in both the private and public sectors. The introduction of professional standards will contribute to a significant increase in the quality of education," said the Deputy Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine.

Head of the Information Security and Cybersecurity Service of the Staff of NSDC of Ukraine, the NCSCC Secretary Natalia Tkachuk emphasized that during the work on the Cyber Security Strategy of Ukraine, the vision of the need to develop the personnel potential of the national cyber security system at the strategic level was laid as one of the top priorities.

"To achieve cyber resilience, a strategic goal was defined - "Professional improvement", which provides that Ukraine will carry out a fundamental reform of the system of training and advanced training of specialists in the field of cyber security, as well as take measures to preserve the existing qualified personnel potential of cyber security subjects. After all, in order to ensure the personnel potential, in particular, of the state cyber security sector, it is not enough to only train high-quality personnel - it is equally important to retain them," Natalia Tkachuk said.

This year, with the support of the USAID Project "Cybersecurity of Critically Important Infrastructure of Ukraine", the first six professional standards were developed for the following professions: developer of information protection systems, administrator of networks and systems, specialist in the field of information protection, security analyst of information and telecommunication systems, specialist in of security issues and instructor-methodologist in information security and cyber security. Among the immediate plans is the preparation of professional standards for other professions in the field of cyber security, as well as the creation of a system of qualification centers where specialists can confirm the suitability of their knowledge and skills for the positions they apply for or hold.
