Cyber Security Month has started in Ukraine. It is held during October in the USA, the countries of the European Union, and for the fifth year in a row in Ukraine. The main goal is to draw society's attention to issues of cyber security and increase citizens' awareness in this area.

On October 6, the Kyiv College of Communications held a ceremonial event "Cyber War with russia: Education in the Conditions of New Challenges and Threats" to mark the beginning of Cyber Security Month, in which Serhiy Demedyuk, Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, made a welcome speech.

"The full-scale war in Ukraine has been going on for more than seven months. It showed that the cyber component is an important element of our defense capability. The gained combat experience puts our state on a par with the world's leading countries in the field of cyber security. The process of creating cyber troops, which should become a powerful component of the defense forces of our country in the future, continues. We once again showed that Ukrainian cyber specialists are among the best in the world, and we should use our experience gained during the first cyber war to strengthen defense capabilities, to improve practice and training," Serhiy Demediuk said.

He also noted that in such difficult times for the state, teachers, students, and practitioners need to make maximum efforts so that more and more Ukrainians want to acquire such important and interesting professions related to cyberspace. And Cyber Security Month will promote the dissemination of current and best practices both for learning and for acquiring practical skills.

The event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine and Kyiv College of Communication. It was attended by representatives of the NSDC Apparatus of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the State Intelligence Service and the Cyber Police Department of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences, as well as teachers, graduate students and students.
