International Scientific and Practical Conference “Countering Cyber Threats in the Modern Security Environment: Current Issues in Theory and Practice” is ongoing in Kyiv

The National Cybersecurity Coordination Center at the NSDC of Ukraine together with the Ukrainian Scientific and Research Institute of Special Equipment and Forensic Expertise of the Security Service of Ukraine with the support of USAID in Ukraine is holding the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Countering Cyber ​​Threats in the Modern Security Environment: Current Issues in Theory and Practice”.

In his opening speech, Head of the Service for Supporting the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center at the NSDC Staff Serhiy Prokopenko noted that combating cybercrime is one of the key strategic goals set by the new Cyber ​​Security Strategy of Ukraine approved by the Presidential Decree of August 26, 2021, № 447. “The Strategy gives significant attention to countering cybercrime, cyberterrorism, cyber espionage”, - he said.

According to Mr. Prokopenko, it is necessary to enhance logistics support of forensic experts in the areas of research of computer equipment, software, communication systems, and involve private experts in such activities.

The conference participants discuss current global trends in combating cybercrime, issues of legal and technical regulation of cyber incident investigation, features of digital evidence collection and investigation of ransomware attacks, issues of forensic, scientific and technical issues of combating cybercrime, developing public-private partnerships and strengthening international cooperation in the field of cybersecurity.

The conference brought together representatives of the main cybersecurity entities, leading domestic experts, scientists, and representatives of international organizations.
