Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine met with the government delegation of Estonia

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov held a meeting with the government delegation of the Republic of Estonia.

The meeting took place at the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center at the NSDC of Ukraine.

Mr. Danilov demonstrated the NCSCC’s capabilities of and presented a modern information-analytical system “COTA” developed and put into operation by experts of the NSDC Staff. According to him, “COTA” is an important tool used by the state’s top leadership in decision-making.

The NSDC Secretary expressed his gratitude to Estonia for supporting our country’s efforts to reform the domestic security and defense sector, for the treatment and medical rehabilitation of Ukrainian servicemen affected by Russian aggression in our country’s East, and for supporting Ukraine in the international arena.

According to the NSDC Secretary, the Ukrainian authorities are working hard to implement changes in all spheres of state life.  In particular, he stressed that the elimination of the oligarchic system, initiated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, is a priority.

Among the important tasks, the NSDC Secretary also called the further development of civil society “an open and responsible one”.

Mr. Danilov noted that the Russian Federation is trying to influence the domestic political situation in Ukraine, striving to impose its narratives not only within our country, but also to its international partners.

In this context, he stressed the importance of more active use of English, especially by young people. Then, according to the NSDC Secretary, it is much easier to resist Russia’s “language occupation” ongoing since Soviet times.

“Ukraine’s success, as an example and precedent, is a huge threat for the ruling Russian regime”, - Mr. Danilov said.

In his turn, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia Jonatan Vseviov said that the State Secretaries from eight ministries of the Republic of Estonia are currently visiting Ukraine.

According to him, Estonian government officials visited the frontline and were “impressed by the professionalism and courage” of the Ukrainian military.

“Our visit testifies to our unwavering support of Ukraine in its Euro-Atlantic aspirations, its territorial integrity and sovereignty”, - Mr. Vseviov said assuring that Estonia is ready to further support reforms in Ukraine.

“European security is directly linked to Ukraine’s success. This is an extremely important factor”, - he noticed.

During the meeting, promising areas of cooperation were discussed.  “The experience of Estonian reforms is important to us”, - the NSDC Secretary underscored.

The parties exchanged views on the prospects of involving Ukraine in the work of the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE) based in Tallinn.

As previously reported, the Ukrainian side made an official request to join the CCDCOE.
