First Deputy Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Mykhailo Koval took part in a meeting of the Commission for Coordination of Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine

First Deputy Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Colonel-General Mykhailo Koval took part in the second meeting of the renovated composition of the Commission for Coordination of Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishina. The meeting was conducted in a video conference format.

During the meeting, the participants discussed a wide range of issues on the agenda and Ukraine's progress in reforming the security and defense sector according to NATO standards.

In particular, the issues of drafting, alignment and approval of the Annual National Program under the auspices of the NATO-Ukraine Commission for 2021 were considered.

The participants paid special attention to developing a comprehensive state standardization strategy and establishing a national system of transition to NATO standards, as well as reviewed NATO’s comprehensive assistance package for Ukraine and ways to update to comply with key security and defense strategic planning documents.

In addition, the following issues were discussed: development of the draft Communication Strategy of the state policy of Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine for 2021-2025 and the corresponding Action Plan for 2021; implementation of Methodological recommendations on the integration of gender approaches into the system of training specialists for the security and defense sector of Ukraine; development and implementation of a NATO-Ukraine project on the transition from a military career to a professional civilian one.

The participants also got acquainted with the results of the functional survey of state bodies in the field of Euro-Atlantic integration and the state of developing professional training programs for civil servants and local government officials on Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine and the development and evaluation of ANP.
