Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov met with heads of diplomatic missions of G7 member states accredited in Ukraine

At the initiative of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov, a meeting was held with the heads of diplomatic missions of the G7 member states accredited in Ukraine, in particular: Charge d’Affaires a.i. of the United States in Ukraine Kristina Kvien, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Ukraine Etienne de Poncins, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Ukraine Anka Feldhusen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Ukraine Davide La Cecilia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Takashi Kurai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Ukraine Melinda Simmons, Head of Political Section at Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine Artur Gebal, and Head of Political & Public Affairs at the Embassy of Canada to Ukraine Roman Kats.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues on the security and defense agenda, in particular, the issue of reforming Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex.

Mr. Danilov informed the representatives of the G7 member states about the implementation of the reform of the defense-industrial complex, in particular, about the plans for the transformation of the SC “Ukroboronprom”.

The NSDC Secretary also expressed his gratitude to the G7 member states for their support of Ukraine in its struggle for the restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity, and reform of the defense industry.

In particular, Mr. Danilov stressed Ukraine’s gratefulness to the French government for its support in conducting an audit of the “Ukroboronprom” corporate reform. France’s assistance to Ukraine is extremely important and enables the necessary reforms, taking into account the best European practices and recommendations.

The NSDC Secretary emphasized that it is crucial for Ukraine to be open to strategic partners and inform them about security reforms. According to him, Ukraine’s course towards implementing the reform of the defense-industrial complex, taking into account the best world experience of corporate governance, remains unchanged.

In their turn, heads of diplomatic missions of G7 member states assured of the unwavering support of Ukraine on its path of reforms and expressed readiness to further expand cooperation with our country.
