Oleksiy Danilov: The Decree of the President of Ukraine will significantly strengthen the capabilities of the National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity

In accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine of January 28, 2020, №27/2020 «On Amendments to the Decree of the President of Ukraine of January 27, 2015, №37 and of June 7, 2016 №242» the maximum number of employees of the Staff of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has been increased by 30 persons. Under the Decree, the employees of the NSDC Staff will provide information, analytical, expert, organizational, maintenance and other support of the activities of the National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity.

"Given the strategic importance of cybersecurity issues in the national security system worldwide and in Ukraine, the operation of the National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity become one of the key activities of the NSDC of Ukraine and its tasks are significantly expanded according to the requirements of the time", - Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said in a comment on the Presidential Decree.

The National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity, headed by Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov, is the Council's working body.

Henceforth the NCCC is empowered to use the capabilities of the Main Situation Center of the NSDC of Ukraine, as well as with the consent of the Head of the State Service for Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine - of the State Cyber Protection Center of the State Service for Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine, with the consent of heads of state bodies - of the cybersecurity centers of state bodies, with the consent of the heads of enterprises, institutions and organizations regardless of ownership, which are classified as critical infrastructure, - of cybersecurity centers of such objects.

The Deputy Head of the Center ex officio is the Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, who is in charge of cybersecurity issues according to the division of responsibilities.
