Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Ukraine Yagmur Ahmet Guldere

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine Yagmur Ahmet Guldere. During the meeting, the most topical issues on the bilateral agenda were considered.

The parties acknowledged the strategic and friendly nature of the bilateral relations. The NSDC Secretary stressed that our state highly appreciates Turkey's support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine and considers the Republic of Turkey a strategic partner.

"We look forward to Turkey's further support in the issue of restoring Ukraine's sovereignty over the currently occupied parts of its territory", - Mr. Danilov said adding that Ukraine highly appreciates Turkey's support for the Crimean Tatars and the Crimean peninsula as a whole.

During the meeting, the NSDC Secretary and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine discussed the issues of bilateral security and military-technical cooperation and called for the activation of relevant contacts. Particular steps were agreed on stepping up bilateral cooperation in this sphere.

As an example of a successful bilateral partnership in the military-technical sphere, the NSDC Secretary cited the last year's procurement of six Turkish Bayraktar TB2 combat operational-tactical unmanned aerial vehicles manufactured by Baykar Makina, which were put on armament of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The NSDC Secretary expressed gratitude to Secretary-General of the National Security Council of Turkey Seyfullah Hacimuftuoglu for his invitation to conduct a visit to Turkey.
