Dear Ukrainians!

On October 14, on the Day of Intercession of the Holy Virgin, we celebrate the Day of the Defender of Ukraine.

Since 2014, this day has been special for many Ukrainian families and for many Ukrainians personally. Today we honor the courage and heroism of the defenders of independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine. We honor those who have personally defended their homeland, honor the military and volunteers, honor all those who could not stay away in difficult times for the country and have made efforts to stop armed hostile aggression.

2014 became the year of the revival of our dignity and our people's freedom-loving spirit. The wave of patriotism and exaltation that united Ukrainians around the world laid the foundation for the revival of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Currently, our army is one of the most capable among non-NATO armies. Ukrainian military servicemen are ready to repel armed aggression. The army and defense-industrial complex of Ukraine are vital factors of national security.

Dear defenders of Ukraine, please accept my sincere congratulations on the holiday! Eternal memory to our Heavenly warriors...
