Active work in ongoing – clarification by the NSDC Staff on news reports about the situation around “112” and “NewsOne” TV channels

Today, a number of media outlets have issued incorrect news reports, the essence of which came down to that "the NSDC of Ukraine will not impose sanctions on 112 and NewsOne TV channels".

We would like to draw your attention that the NSDC Staff's answer on the request of "Ukrainian News" information agency contained the following.

The proposals of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the application of sanctions, submitted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on October 4, 2018 No. 2589-VIII "On Approval of Proposals for the Application of Personal Special Economic and Other Restrictive Measures (Sanctions)", were considered at the NSDC meeting on March 19, 2019.

The NSDC of Ukraine has instructed the Security Service of Ukraine to complete the review of the legal entities listed in Annex 1 to the aforementioned Verkhovna Rada Resolution on activities that give grounds for applying restrictive measures on them provided for by the Law of Ukraine "On Sanctions".

The NSDC Staff informed that as of today, the Security Service of Ukraine has not provided the facts confirming the participation of these legal entities in terrorist activity, but the Service is still working. The NSDC of Ukraine is waiting for the conclusions of the intelligence service to make appropriate decisions.

We ask media representatives to be attentive to the information provided by state bodies and not to make false and hasty conclusions. We emphasize once again that active work in this direction is ongoing.
