Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Serhiy Kryvonos held a meeting of the subgroup on raising the level of military-patriotic education of youth.

Representatives of the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Information Policy, the Ministry of Veterans of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, public members, experts took part in the event held to implement the NSDC decision of May 7, 2019 "On measures to strengthen the state's defense capability".

The participants of the meeting discussed the draft concept of reforming military-patriotic education, pre-conscription training, and the formation of defensive consciousness.

The draft of this concept and the meeting minutes will be forwarded to ministries and agencies shortly for consideration and submission of proposals.

Reference: In accordance with the decision of the NSDC of Ukraine of May 7, 2019 "On measures to strengthen the state's defense capability", approved by the Decree of the President of Ukraine №200, a working body of the Council - an interagency working group was formed. The Regulation on the interagency working group was approved by the Decree of the President of Ukraine of May 7, 2019 №201.

The members of the interagency working group are the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, the Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine, the Deputy Head of the National Security Service, the Deputy Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, the Deputy Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The main task of the interagency working group is to prepare proposals to the NSDC of Ukraine for solving problematic issues in the following areas: improvement of the territorial defense system; raising the level of military-patriotic education of youth; preparation of the military reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations; counteracting information aggression against Ukraine; organizing and maintaining resistance movement.
