Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk paid a visit to the United States of America

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk concluded the visit to the United States of America.

During his visit to the US, the NSDC Secretary held meetings with American politicians, statesmen, analysts, experts, and diplomats.

The NSDC Secretary met with US National Security Advisor John Bolton, National Security Advisor to the US Vice President general Keith Kellogg, US Special Representative for Ukraine negotiations Kurt Volker, Special Assistant to the US President and Senior Director for European and Russian Affairs Fiona Hill and National Security Advisor to the US President in 2005-2009 Stephen Hadley. The interlocutors discussed the prospects for the development of Ukrainian-American relations in the new political environment and the possibility of intensifying cooperation between Ukraine and the US in the security sphere.

The issues of Ukrainian-American energy cooperation, prospects and key areas of bilateral relations between Ukraine and the US at a new stage were discussed during the meeting of the NSDC Secretary with US Secretary of Energy Rick Perry, Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Francis Fannon.

Also, as part of his visit to the United States, the NSDC Secretary Mr. Danyliuk met with US Ambassador to the EU Gordon Sondland. During the meeting, the parties underscored the positive development of bilateral relations between Ukraine and the US and discussed further steps and new vectors of cooperation.

During the visit, Oleksandr Danyliuk also participated in discussions with analysts, politicians, academics and diplomats - representatives of the Atlantic Council, the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), Albright Stonebridge, Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), RAND, Carnegie, Center for a New American Security (CNAS), Penn Biden Center, Brookings, Heritage and the US-Russia foundation. The participants of the discussion discussed the development of Ukraine under new conditions, prospects for bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the US, outlined the most promising areas for this and security challenges for Ukraine.

The NSDC Secretary also met with US Senators Ron Johnson and Ted Cruz. The senators expressed their support for Ukraine's reform efforts.

Mr. Danyliuk discussed prospects of Ukraine-US bilateral relations in the military and defense sectors as well as strengthening defense capability during the meeting with Under Secretary of Defense for Policy John Rood and Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Andrea Thompson.

Mr. Danyliuk also discussed financial cooperation with Deputy Secretary of the US Department of Treasury Justin Muzinich, World Bank President David Malpass, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation Georgia Baker, World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller and Head of the IMF mission Ron van Roden.

The intensification of cooperation in cybersecurity was discussed during Mr. Danyliuk's meeting with Director of the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Christopher Krebs. The interlocutors considered the process of coordinating the work and prospects of close cooperation between Ukraine and the US, and further enhancing the capabilities of the NSDC as a coordinating body in cybersecurity.
