Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov congratulated the personnel of the Intelligence Office of the State Border Guard Service on the fifteenth anniversary of its creation.

"Throughout the entire period of its functioning, the Office stood guarding the national interests of Ukraine. In February 2014, the Office leadership was one of the few who did not betray and did not defect to the aggressor's side, as did the leadership of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other law security agencies", - the NSDC Secretary said.

According to him, as the situation in the east of Ukraine aggravated, the Office quickly set up an efficient intelligence network and managed to get a significant amount of useful intelligence information.

According to Mr. Turchynov, over the last years, the whole intelligence community of Ukraine has achieved a dramatic increase in the efficiency of carrying out special measures and getting the information needed for the state leadership. "Thanks to your selfless and hard work, a secure border has been established, which is one of the key elements of the country's security. The state highly appreciates your professionalism and loyalty to military duty!", - he stated.

"The situation requires a constant improvement of the border intelligence system", - the NSDC Secretary emphasized defining the main directions for developing and strengthening the border intelligence capacities.
