Creation of new weapons systems is the priority of the work of the Joint Ukraine-Turkey Commission on military-technical cooperation

The meeting of the Sixth Joint Ukraine-Turkey Commission on military-technical cooperation took place in Ankara, Turkey.

From the Ukrainian side, the commission was headed by Deputy Minister of Defense General Igor Pavlovsky, from the Turkish - by Deputy Undersecretary for Defense Industries of the Ministry of Defense of Turkey, Serdar Demirel. First Deputy to the Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleg Hladkovskiy,  Director General of the SC Ukroboronprom Pavlo Bukin, representatives of state and private defense companies of Ukraine and Turkey also took part in the meeting.

During the meeting, the participants analyzed the state of implementing joint projects in the military-technical sphere for the current year. In particular, the implementation of the contract for the provision of communication facilities for the "Aselsan" company for the needs of the Ukrainian army. The parties agreed on the transfer to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine of advanced communication technologies and software and signed an appropriate offset agreement.

The participants also discussed projects to be implemented in armored, aerospace, and aircraft sectors. Among other things, the parties agreed to develop cooperation in the direction of unmanned weapons systems and considered the possibility of creating a joint design office for the development of new engines for armored vehicles.

Turkish representatives confirmed their interest in purchasing the AN-178 aircraft. Based on the Commission's work, the parties signed a Memorandum on the supply of unmanned aircraft systems to Ukraine and the creation of a joint venture.

Also during the meeting, Oleg Hladkovskiy met with Undersecretary for Defense Industry of Turkey Ismail Demir.
