Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov held a meeting with NATO Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges Sorin Dukaru. During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the situation in Ukraine developed as a result of the hybrid aggression of the Russian Federation against our state. According to Mr. Turchynov, a powerful infrastructure of Russian troops is being built along the Ukrainian-Russian border, "new divisions are being created in Bilgorod and Rostov regions near the eastern and northern borders".

"There is no need to tell you about militarization in Kaliningrad and the creation of powerful bases in Syria", - Secretary of the NSDC said adding that Russia has substantially strengthened its positions in the Black Sea and Baltic basins.

Moreover, the interlocutors considered the methods of Russia's hybrid aggression against our country. "In addition to hostilities, an economic, energy, informational, and cybernetic aggression is waged against our country", - he explained.

During the discussion, the parties focused on deepening cooperation in military-technical and cybersecurity spheres between Ukraine and NATO member states. In his turn, Mr. Dukaru stressed that "Ukraine is the cornerstone of Euro-Atlantic security".

In addition, NATO Assistant Secretary General emphasized the importance of cooperation in the scientific field and in cybersecurity issues. "At this stage, we are deepening practical cooperation and integration of our actions", - he noticed adding that the work of the NATO Trust Fund on Cyber Defence for Ukraine was considered satisfactory and "now it is planned to expand its work".

Sorin Dukaru noted deep reforms of the security and defense sector of Ukraine, "which are not only on paper but really deep and aimed at the Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine". "Today we have reached the level of practical cooperation that we have never had before. I believe in the European and North Atlantic integration of Ukraine", - he emphasized and summed up that the security interests of Ukraine and NATO are fully interconnected and intertwined.
