Oleksandr Turchynov considers the US missile attack in Syria an adequate and timely response

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov considers a strike of the US cruise missiles on a military site in Syria an adequate and timely response to the application by Russia's ally Bashar Assad of chemical weapons against civilians. This was stated by Oleksandr Turchynov at a meeting with NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation that emerged after the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. The interlocutors also paid special attention to cooperation between Ukraine and NATO, reforming of the security and defense sector of our country and its transition to the NATO standards.

The interlocutors identified a number of strategic areas for cooperation, particularly in countering modern hybrid threats.
