Oleg Hladkovskiy attended a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Joint Working Group on defense and technical cooperation

First Deputy to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleg Hladkovskiy headed the delegation of Ukraine at the regular meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Joint Working Group on defense and technical cooperation which took place at the NATO headquarters on December, 2.

The NATO party was headed by Assistant Secretary General for Defense Investment, Head of the Defense Investment Division of the NATO International Staff Camille Grand.

The participants of the meeting discussed the current results of cooperation with NATO in the sphere of armaments and defense industry and identified priorities for further joint work within the framework of the Ukraine-NATO Defense-Technical Cooperation Roadmap.

Apart from that, they considered the practical aspects of cooperation with the Alliance on the reform of the national defense industry and the basic provisions of the draft State target program for reforming and developing the military-industrial complex for the period until 2020.

The participants of the meeting discussed the ways to improve the efficiency of projects under the NATO Logistics and Standardization Trust Fund and the Command, Control, Communications and Computers Trust Fund, the practical areas of cooperation within the programs and projects of the NATO Support and Procurement Agency, as well as other areas of cooperation for the benefit of development of the national capacities in the sphere of ​​armaments and military equipment of the Armed Forces and other military formations of Ukraine.

As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation in 2017 and to step up efforts in the field of armaments and military equipment development, joint research and technologies, and import substitution.
