The unity of the nation is the key to Ukraine's victory in the confrontation with the Russian aggressor. This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov in his interview with the "Novoye Vremya" magazine.

Secretary of the NSDC Ukraine analyzed in detail the events of the modern history of Ukraine since February 2014, noticing that despite the problems and the economic crisis, "we managed to create strong Armed Forces, National Guard, power structures, able to protect the country" and stop the advance of the enemy "from east to west". "The time will come, and we shall clear all the occupied territories", - Mr. Turchynov stated.

NSDC Secretary underlined that nowadays Ukrainian army is one of the strongest in Europe. "Our defense industry provided the Armed Forces with modern weapons despite the immoral blockade of lethal weapons supplies to Ukraine", - he said. At the same time, NSDC Secretary stated that "the threat definitely remains, and there are still lots of problems in the security and defense sector".

"The key to our victory in the confrontation with a powerful and cruel enemy lies not only in modern weapons, professionalism, and heroism of our military servicemen but, above all, in the unity of our nation. That is why the motto of the Maidan is relevant like never before - "Until we are united we are invincible", - Oleksandr Turchynov stated.
