Greetings of NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov with the Independence Day of Ukraine

Dear friends!

I congratulate you on the anniversary of the Independence Day of Ukraine!

Twenty-five years have passed since the revival of the independence of Ukraine - the state, which traces its roots from the times of Kievan Rus. Our country has a unique geopolitical position, and that is why the whole Ukrainian history is the struggle to be independent, sovereign, European state.

Most regrettably, in the new century, this struggle has ratcheted up. They want to deforce us of the right to be a state, but we defended this right at the Maidan, in the frontline, countering one of the most powerful and dangerous enemies in the world and having stopped it.

No one can stop our way to freedom, democracy, and civilization. Only the Ukrainian people have the right to write its history and be the masters of its land!
