Address of the NSDC of Ukraine Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov on the occasion of the 72-nd anniversary of Crimean Tatars deportation

72 years ago, the totalitarian Stalin's regime launched a large-scale operation on deportation of the Crimean Tatars nation from the homeland. It took only two days to send around two hundred thousands of the Crimean people falsely accused of supporting the Nazis to the places of exile.

Today, 72 later, the history repeats itself. Putin does not even try to come up with a new scenario. Again there are far-fetched charges, searches, intimidations, prohibitions...With its metastases of the imperial ambitions, the Kremlin has annexed the peninsula and is doing everything to destroy the national consciousness, historical memory, cultural traditions and dignity of the Crimean Tatars.

The entire civilized world condemned the actions of the Putin's regime, and Jamala's voice got this truth across from the stage of Eurovision to the millions of viewers worldwide.

Brutal savage force will never win truth and justice down! The aggressor will not break the spirit of the Crimean Tatars people!
