Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov held a meeting with Director of the Secretariat for Defense Industries of the Republic of Turkey Іsmail Demir.

During the meeting the interlocutors discussed the issues on implementation of joint projects in the area of defense-industrial complex. Mr. Turchynov and Mr. Demir have started discussing these issues in the framework of the working visit of NSDC Secretary of Ukraine to the Republic of Turkey in January this year.

In particular, the parties have discussed in detail the issues of cooperation on specific projects employing modern technologies for the manufacturing of military equipment and weapons in various sectors of the defense industry within Ukrainian and Turkish Defense Industry Complexes and creation of working groups for implementation of those projects.

"We consider Turkey a strategic partner of our country", - NSDC Secretary of Ukraine said, adding that "based on the results of his visit to Turkey a decision on a close cooperation of Defense Industries of both states was taken".

In his turn, Mr. Demir stressed on the importance of cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey.

"We are extremely interested in cooperation with Ukraine and convinced that this cooperation will be very fruitful. I believe that by joining efforts, our countries will become more potent", - Director of the Secretariat for Defense Industries of the Republic of Turkey emphasized.
