Oleksandr Turchynov: Strong, potent, democratic Ukraine is a nightmare for Putin

To protect the country and to ensure its development is possible only by joint efforts of government and society. This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov during the program "Left Bank" on 24^th channel.

"Strong, potent, democratic Ukraine is a nightmare for Putin. It's the example of how it is possible to live beyond totalitarianism, which we are demonstrating, including to those peoples in the Russian Federation", - he stressed.

NSDC Secretary noted that the leadership of Russia is involved not only in external destabilization of our country at Donbas, "but in the internal too - trying from the inside to undermine the situation in Ukraine".

"The efforts to destabilize the situation from the inside is an attempt to compensate the losses, defeats, which they have faced at Donbas", - he stressed.

At the same time he noted that strong Ukrainian army, armed with the most modern weapons and equipment, should be in the best interest not only of our state but of whole civilized world. "Because we are actually an outpost, which has stopped the advance of Putin to the West. Ukraine is the stronghold, which Putin was unable to conquer" - NSDC Secretary said, adding that the aggression that our country survives today is the aggression not only against Ukraine but against the entire civilized world".

"Only together, with common efforts we can defend the country, only together we will ensure the development of a strong, democratic, independent and European Ukraine", - Oleksandr Turchynov concluded.
