Oleksandr Turchynov: Russia actually confirmed its crime

Russia once again, abusing the right of veto and blocking the UN Security Council decision on the establishment of an international tribunal to investigate the catastrophe of Malaysian "Boeing", actually confirmed its crime and tried to delay its responsibility for killing innocent people. This was stated by NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov in his comment. "The international community has to stop observing the impunity of drunk with blood criminals. Russia will not be able to hide from the responsibility", - he said, adding that for the terror, murder, aggression and lost lives Russian leadership will be held accountable "before justice of Heaven and justice of people".

NSDC Secretary reminded that this is not the first time when Russia abuses its right of veto. "Just in the same manner UN resolutions on capturing of the Crimea, on war in Donbas, on establishment of peacekeeping mission to stop the hostilities have been blocked", - said Oleksandr Turchynov, adding that yesterday's veto is a "challenge to all humankind and humanism".

He is convinced that this should be a cause for amending the UN Charter. The country should not be able to use the right of veto on the decision concerning its crime. Otherwise we will see a complete defamation and paralysis of the UN Security Council", - he stressed.

"Precisely Ukraine and countries whose citizens have suffered from the attack, should make suggestions on the appropriate amendments to the UN Charter" - NSDC secretary said.

According to him, a lot of changes have occurred in the world since 1945, when the UN was founded, "so the issue of UN reforming is long overdue".

"But if the UN Charter isn't changed, - summed up Oleksandr Turchynov, - this authority will completely lose its credibility and the capacity to respond to dangerous and extensive challenges of our time."
