Oleksandr Turchynov: After retiring of insurgents Shyrokino will be fully under our control

In the process of demilitarization of Shyrokino dominant hills remain under control of the Ukrainian Army. This was announced by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov in the interview to "Interfax-Ukraine".

Oleksandr Turchynov said that when he coordinated the operation on taking over of Shyrokino "it was crucial to move the front line as far away from Mariupol as possible". That's how, according to him, a breakthrough of militants' defense was achieved, the front line was significantly moved away and the defense of the city was provided.

NSDC Secretary stressed that the demilitarization does not mean that the army leaves, abandoning a particular locality. "On the contrary, according to Minsk agreement, we force the militants to retreat."

"We are not going to leave strategic positions poured with blood of our heroes. After the retreat of militants Shyrokino will be fully under our control", - he emphasized.

Oleksandr Turchynov noted that the scheme of demilitarization involves the presence of a permanent OSCE mission at this area and providing of control after the retreat of militants by Ukrainian police, as long as the creation of conditions for the return of civilians. "At that, all the dominant hills required in order to stop any attack, remain under the control of our military", - he stressed.

"This way, allows us to peacefully regain control of the temporarily occupied territory. This is exactly the implementation of Minsk agreement under which not a single Russian soldier should remain on the territory of Ukraine and Ukrainian authority should be restored everywhere", - NSDC Secretary concluded.
