Oleksandr Turchynov: armored vehicles “Saxon” will be introduced after modification and testing
Twenty British armored vehicles "Saxon" came in Ukraine, another 55 will arrive soon. This was reported to journalists by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov during his visit to the training center of the National Guard of Ukraine in Novy Petrivci of the Kyiv district.
After handing to military certificates for new and upgraded equipment for ATO the President of Ukraine, the Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine together with those present inspected Ukrainian and foreign military equipment.
Oleksandr Turchynov underlined that armored vehicles had to be updated and in the near future they would be refurnished by the State concern "Ukroboronprom" for needs of the Army. "These "Saxon" came without armaments, we will equip them with combat unit to provide effective fire cover for the National Guard or other units, in which these armored vehicles will be supplied", ‑ he said.
In this context, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine stressed that once armored vehicles were tested on the ground, "they immediately would be introduced".
The President of Ukraine and the Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine examined the specialized military ambulances, anti-squadron and communications interception facilities, unmanned aerial vehicles, command vehicles, radio sets and new means of communication for checkpoints and operational communications and equipment for radio-jamming.
