Greetings of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov on Christmas
Merry Christmas, dear friends!
The Son of God came to Earth to warm our cold hearts
with His infinite love, give us hope, salvation and eternal life!
Jesus Christ never accepted populism. He did not
promise "all and today", He did not promise a comfortable life without faith,
work and responsibility. That is why not everyone followed Him then, not
everyone is following now. But He gave us the victorious Light. So the night
always gives way to the day and evil surrenders to good. It has always been so
and will be!
To remind people of this, in the year of 431, at the
Third Ecumenical Council in Ephesus, it was decided to celebrate Christmas on
December 25, the day after the winter solstice when the night is becoming
increasingly shorter, and darkness cedes to light.
In those times there was no split or division of

Gregorian calendar, by which the whole civilized world lives now, Christmas is

This year, Ukraine is officially celebrating Christmas
together with the whole civilized world on December 25!
With all my heart I wish you prosperity and family
comfort! May God bless Ukraine! I wish you and your families God's Love, and
may the light of the Star of Bethlehem bring you peace, serenity, and fortune
to every home, fill your hears with good and love!
Christ was born! Praise Him!
